D-seven are an all-male a’capella vocal performance group from Cape Town. Performing on some of South Africa’s largest platforms with top national artists, D-seven have established themselves as a premier entertainment act with a high level of media currency.
A’Capella (voice only) music has, for an exceptionally long period, suffered under the impression that it was a music genre lacking sex appeal, audience-accessibility and commercial viability, and perhaps a touch lame.
Needless to say, perceptions haven’t hindered D-seven , is a bold ensemble that has set the South African music performance scene alight with tight sets, fitted suits, slick moves and smooth music. And if first impressions are anything to go by, many a fan of high-quality live music will be groveling to the musical gods in thanks for a long while to come.
And grovel you just might. The men of D-seven certainly are a sight to match their sound, which is itself winning wide acclaim. The group is moving from strength to strength, having performed to packed crowds on some of the Mother City’s premier stages, namely Rocking the Daisies, Artscape Theatre and Broadway, whilst catching the eye of producers at SABC 2 in the process. They’ve also performed with the likes of Arno Carstens, Louise Carver and Goldfish.
What makes this group so special, aside from their flirtatious nature and persuasive charm, is their individual and combined passion for singing, is evident by their commitment to the art to date. Each has their own exceptional singing career behind them and it’s their love of singing and entertaining that has encouraged them to join forces to get your feet tapping, bringing a’capella into a world of cool. Their ability to perform each of their tracks with such panache and charm leaves audiences amazed and feeling spoilt.

All that coverage is sure to grow the D-seven brand, and like any performance outfit worth their salt, the men are certainly conscious of the fact. But it’s the brand itself that catches more attention than anything else.
Fresh, vibrant, powerful, mature (with just the hint of an incorrigible wink), contemporary and downright damned good. These are the ideas and terms that make up the core of the D-seven brand and identity, ideas which are lived out by each of the seven gents on stage and in life. So get on your feet or take a load off. Clap your hands, bite your lip or chill out. Open up your ears, eyes and your smile, D-seven is up.
