TITI TSIRA

Titi Tsira hails from Gugulethu, a black African township in the Western Cape. She started singing at a very early age, coming from an artistic home - her mother being an actress and her father a singer.

As a soloist with the band Earth Tones, she entered competitions like Shell Road To Fame, duetting with artists like Mxolisi Mayekana. A couple of years later this dazzling woman joined a group called MTF, with whom she released a CD "Game of Love" in 2003. After 2003 Titi went abroad, joining a group called Hashoo Bashoo marimba band, with which she toured Norway and Namibia.

Titi sings Blues, Afro Jazz, Afro Pop fused with Traditional. She is also a dancer and an actress, and was the main actor in a production called Gaptoothed Sisters at the Baxter Theatre, directed by Itumeleng wa Lehulero. Titi went to perform in Durban in a conference "The All Nations Against Racism", where she had the opportunity of meeting Harry Belafonte.

Titi joined the "diva show" in Mannenburg Jazz Café, where she performed with Dorothy Masuka, Abigail Kubeka, Thandi Klassen and Sylvia Mdunyelwa. She was invited to Senegal by Mama Dou Konte where she performed at Manu Debango's 70 th birthday and Africa Fete 25th anniversary in Dakar. Titi has also been to Paris, performing at the Cannes Film Festival.

Currently, Titi is a resident performer at Mannenburg Jazz Café at the Cape Town V&A Waterfront. She has also performed in numerous festivals in Cape Town and Johannesburg. Titi collaborated with a group called Saintric from Dakar Senegal. She also collaborated with a brass band from Norway called "The Brass Brothers".
