Siphokazi Maraqana, Afro-Soul artist who hails from Lusikisiki in the Eastern Cape, took the SA music industry by storm with the 2006 release of her debut album "Ubuntu Bam", which was awarded with a 2007 SAMA award for Best African Adult Contemporary Album. Siphokazi is however no stranger to the stage, having performed at numerous concerts and festivals, both as a backing vocalist and a featured soloists with renowned artists such as Tshepo Tsola, Ringo Madlingozi, Mat Matshikiza, Simphiwe Dana, Zamajobe, and Stimela.

Her sound has been described as being "somewhere between Simphiwe Dana and Judith Sephuma". Siphokazi states: "I believe I'm an expressionist. My style is a fusion of traditional jazz and gospel - it's treated soulfully."

Siphokazi had been dreaming about a career in music since the age of seven. Her family was a great support, and encouraged her to sing gospel and join the school choir at a young age. In 1999 she moved to Johannesburg, where she joined the Sibikwa Community Arts Centre, studyinh music theory and other music basics. In 2000 she started a music technology course at Central Johannesburg College, studying sound engineering and music production.

Siphokazi's strong African and Nubian features, combined with her extraordinary vocal flair, also earned her the role in the feature film "Sophiatown", playing the role of a resident band singer, backing the likes of Dolly Rathebe, Dorothy Masuka, Thandi Klaasen, Abigail Khubeka and The Manhattan Brothers.

Typical Corporate performance: up to 45 mins, with backing tracks or full band
